HEATING PROPAGATORS
Hotbox Heatwave Panel
The Hotbox Heatwave bench system is a made to measure system which encourages germination, propagation and growth of seedlings and cuttings by delivering constant, uniform heat to the base of seed trays and plant pots.
Key Features:
• Optimum growing temperature – precise thermostatic control from 6 to 38°C
• Easy to install – on the ground or on benches. Just plug in and plant up. A polystyrene base is required
• Energy ef cient – inexpensive to run
• Durable construction
• Flexibility – operate more than one Heatwave from a single thermostatic controller.
Speci cations:
• Size and voltage – built to your speci cation – no cold spots, no waste
• Installation – lay on 50mm thick polystyrene base, capillary matting optional
• Power – tted with compliant plug for country of use
• Construction – aluminium foil base with PTFE elements
Seed Trays
The seed trays are warmed from below and held at a constant temperature during the propagation process, ensuring rapid, consistent and strong growth from seeds and cuttings.
Aluminium Heating Element
The Heatwave aluminium panel is laid over the polystyrene to offer uniform distribution from the internal heating elements. Wattage is 150W/m2.
Insulation
A layer of polystyrene is placed over the worktop base to ensure that no heat is lost and that all heat is distributed into the soil trays above. Ideally this should be 3-5cm thick (1.5”-2”).
Soft Warming Cables
Designed to provide heat in propagating trays, benches, greenhouse borders, cold frames etc or for air warming.
• Flexible silicone cable
• Promotes germination and growth of your plants
• Warms the soil by 8-12°C
• Especially suitable for seed propagation
• CE-certi ed
• Ready to plug in
• Ideal in combination with a thermostat (not included)
Thermostat and Sensor
A thermostat sensor is inserted in the root zone and this measures soil or compost temperature. The thermostat can be set for temperatures between 6 and 38oC, depending on your selection of plants for propagation.
Thermostat
Provides heat when cold and ventilation in the heat • Ready to plug in
• Adjustment range -50 to + 99 ° C
• Robust and digital display
• 1.5 m (approx 5 ft) temperature sensor cable length
